Park Slope was luckier than many neighborhoods; we never lost heat or electricity. We lost many trees, some of which fell on cars, others just blocked the streets. But it was minor inconvenience given what the rest of New York and the suburbs went through – and are still recovering from. We are all donating clothes and/or time, money and services for people in Red Hook, the Rockaways, Coney Island, Long Island and at the armory here, which is housing seniors who were evacuated from nursing homes.
These photos were taken in the days immediately after the storm.
